I bought a D7000 when they first came out and really enjoyed it; it was my "gateway" into the Nikon system. I eventually sold it to buy the original Olympus OM-D E-M5, as I was traveling a fair bit back then and wanted something smaller and lighter.
I almost sold my Z6 to help fund the purchase of the Zf, thinking it would be silly to have two full-frame Nikons with the same sensor, but I'm glad I didn't. They are very different cameras. The Z6II and Z7II (and perhaps even the Z8) are arguably more well-rounded cameras, but the Zf is special, and the more I use it, the more I like it.
I honestly don't think Nikon makes a bad Z camera, and I hope you find the one that suits you best. It's a great system!
